Business consulting

Strategy that survives contact with your operating model.

Most transformation programmes do not fail on strategy. They fail in the gap between a board-approved slide and the way work actually moves through the organisation — the handoffs, the spreadsheets, the control that only one person understands.

Our business consulting practice closes that gap. We map the current state honestly, design a target operating model that people can actually run, build the costed business case that gets it funded, and stay through delivery. In regulated sectors we design to the obligation first: if a process cannot be evidenced, it is not finished.

We work with boards, COOs, finance directors and compliance leads across financial services, legal and professional services, property, healthcare and the public sector — organisations where an operating model has to satisfy an auditor as well as a customer.

Capabilities

What we actually do.

Target operating model design

People, process, technology, data and governance defined as one model — with the accountabilities and controls written down, not assumed.

Business process re-engineering

End-to-end process mapping, waste and control-gap analysis, then redesign for cycle time, cost and auditability at the same time.

Business case & investment appraisal

Costed options, benefits modelling, sensitivity analysis and a board-ready decision pack that stands up to a finance director's questions.

Operational resilience & continuity

Important business services mapped, impact tolerances set, dependencies and third parties tested — aligned to UK operational resilience expectations and ISO 22301 practice.

Programme delivery & PMO

Delivery governance that reports the truth: a single plan, real dependencies, an honest RAID log and benefits tracked past go-live.

Cost, vendor & licence optimisation

Spend baselined, contracts and licence estates reviewed, duplication removed — with the savings written into the budget, not just the report.

How we work

The shape of an engagement.

01

Diagnose

Two to four weeks of structured discovery — interviews, process observation, data and system walkthroughs. You get a current-state assessment with the findings ranked by cost and risk, whether or not you engage us further.

02

Design

The target operating model, process designs and control framework, built with your people rather than presented to them. Every design decision is traceable to an obligation, a cost or a customer outcome.

03

Decide

A costed, optioned business case with a phased roadmap. Board-ready, plain-language, and honest about what the organisation can absorb in a year.

04

Deliver

Delivery with a working PMO, embedded change management and benefits tracked to realisation. We hand over a running operation, not a document set.

Common questions

Questions we get asked.

How is this different from a large management consultancy?

Scale and staffing. You get the people who scoped the work doing the work, and a software house behind them — so a recommendation to automate a process comes with a realistic view of what building it costs.

Do you only work with regulated organisations?

No, but it is where we are strongest. If your operating model has to satisfy the FCA, the ICO, HMRC or an ISO auditor, that constraint shapes the design from day one rather than arriving late.

How long is a typical engagement?

A diagnostic runs two to four weeks. Design is typically six to twelve weeks. Delivery is scoped to the roadmap — we would rather phase it than promise a single eighteen-month programme.

Can you deliver the technology as well as the advice?

Yes. Our technology, AI and ERP practices build what the operating model needs, and our SaaS portfolio covers identity, signing, storage and monitoring if you would rather adopt than build.

Start with a conversation, not a proposal.
